The Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 (reduce road accident deaths by 50%) was developed by the United Nations. India is way behind the 2020 target. So far the fall in road accident deaths are not substantial. In2017 3.27% decreased and increased by 1.68% in the first quarter of 2018 and increasing day by day. Mother India Care has launched in national project “Drive Safe & Arrive Safe” with a goal of Zero Death and No Serious Injury in road crash in India, and inviting the participation in these campaigns to achieve this goal and also to provide safer roads to our next generation.
Why Participate in Campaign #CheckYour Road User Score online.
Most of the road users are using and sharing roads with risky behavior. Most of the accidents are caused due to human/driver’s mistakes which can be corrected. Road users can be educated, trained and assessed so that they can be Safe Road User and not Risky Road User. We have designed 7 pillars road safety training module for road users and providing training.
Why Participate in Campaign #SpeakUp For Road Safety online.
Road users are not paying much attention or not finding time to raise their voice on road safety. Road Users can identify traffic related risks and generate demand online to fix it.
Why participate in Campaign #RoadSafety Pledge Signing online by road users.
Pre-commitment works. Road users should sign road safety pledge and must honour their commitment and encourage fellow road users to do the same so as to improve the road safety.
Why Participate in Campaign #RoadSafety Improvement Pledge Signing by civic bodies and competent authorities
Improper road infrastructure and improper traffic management are also causing road accident deaths Road users are not finding time to approach competent authority to address their road traffic related problems.
Why participate in Campaign #Join Road Safety Leaders
Absence of leadership, mandate, attention, and budgets for road-safety improvement, such circumstances cannot reduce road crash deaths in India. There is need for the stronger Leadership in Road Safety and it has been endorsed by the World Health Organization – WHO. Any road user either a student or a member of general public, and also from private sector, public sector and government sectors can come forward and be a Road Safety Leader to extend support as per their capacity. Road Safety Leaders combined and consistent support and contribution can have the greater impact to provide sustainable solution to improve road safety. The details of the support and contribution extended by Road Safety Leaders can be displayed in the exclusive website of World Health Organization (after the due assessment process by WHO’s exclusive team).
